Do the MNML laundry capsules clean well and remove stains?
We have done extensive independent testing of our capsules against many competitors to ensure that the quality and efficacy of our concentrated cleaning power outperforms the competition. We tested our capsules on 20 different types of common stains such as coffee, olive oil, tomato, tea, wine, ice cream and grass/mud to ensure we can effectively remove these common stains from your clothes and bed linen (who spilled their coffee in bed…..)
Is MNML suitable to use in front and top loaders?
Yes it is! It is the perfect dose for a front loader machine but you may need to use a second capsule for top loaders, larger machines and heavily soiled loads. Our testing showed that the cleaning performance over 20 common stains was slightly less with 1 capsule in a top loader (compared to a front loader) due to the higher amount of water used and therefore further dilution of the concentrated capsule.
Is MNML suitable to use with cold water?
Yes it is! Our preference is to help reduce energy consumption and hot water energy waste, so yes please wash in cold water. We have done extensive testing and have optimised our formula to ensure it performs exceptionally well in cold water conditions. Further to that, it also helps you to look after your bed linen and delicate fabrics to ensure they last longer.
Can I use a fabric softener with the MNML capsules?
There is no need. Fabric softeners are often made up of ingredients that leave a film on your clothes and can be an irritant on your skin. Our advice is to take your bed linen or clothes off the line just before they are completely dry and tumble dry them for a few minutes with our MNML wool balls for a natural and more effective solution to soften your clothes.
What ingredients are in your capsules?
CHAMOMILE Laundry Capsules
Anionic and non-ionic surfactants, alkaline salt, bio enzymes, fragrance (proprietary SLEEPTEK calming blend). Capsule Film: Water soluble polyvinyl alcohol.
CITRUS Laundry Capsules
Anionic and non-ionic surfactants, alkaline salt, bio enzymes, fragrance (proprietary WELLBEING blend). Capsule Film: Water soluble polyvinyl alcohol.
What is in the Fragrance?
To ensure our customers can feel confident using our products, we only use fragrances that are approved by IFRA (International Fragrance Association) whose standards are built around the safe use of fragrance ingredients. Our fragrances are also phthalate free.
About the Fragrances in the MNML Capsules
After years of research and with a deep understanding of the transformative power of scent, we explored the untapped potential and power of functional fragrance in laundry products.
Working together with global fragrance experts, we developed a range of functional fragrances. SLEEPTEK™ is our cutting edge technology that combines fragrances that are specifically created for sleep - with laundry capsules designed for cleaning bedding. Each capsule is infused with a proprietary blend of calming aromas that are proven to promote a calm and peaceful sleep.
Our fragrances were tested in a clinical study using Polysomnography (a combination of clinical measures of sleep, including physiological techniques and brain scanning techniques) and Actigraphy (the clinical measure of body movement in the context of sleep). Results were that the fragrance improved participants’ sleep compared to no fragrance.
What is Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA, PVOH)?
Polyvinyl Alcohol is the film used to wrap the laundry capsule.
PVA is water soluble and biodegradable, it’s been used in a variety of personal care, medical, household, and industrial applications for many years. Despite a lot of recent online controversy with this ingredient, it has been proven unfounded and untrue. It is not made of microplastics and it doesn’t pose environmental risks. It is a biodegradable material that naturally decomposes in water.

What materials are your packaging made from?
We set out to create laundry product packaging that wasn’t made from plastic. Easier said than done. This gave us a few challenges to tackle that don’t usually go well with cardboard - the humidity of a laundry, the need to have tamper proof and child safe packaging seals and ensuring the stability of the product during transport and on shelf.
However, after many setbacks we were able to tackle these challenges and deliver packaging that is truly innovative to the laundry category in Australia.
